Itinerary
The Beginning: South American Journey (Mid April-Mid July)
Colombia, Ecuador, and possibly a visit back to Chile.
I will be volunteering at an Art Foundation in Ecuador working with children to express themselves creatively through music, art, and theatre as well as working with local adults in the small community of Banos on literacy and ESL initiatives. You can check out the website here: http://www.artedelmundoecuador.com/v2/index.php
African Adventure (August-Mid October)
Uganda, Sudan, Tanzania
I am currently planning on volunteering with a local Dallas organization – E3 partners and Seed Effect Org when I arrive in the area of Micro-financing. We will be located in Sudan for this project, and you can read about their initiatives at www.seedeffect.org. Thereafter, I am volunteering at a Children’s Orphanage with HOPE Ministries in Iganga, Uganda.
Europe (Mid October – January)
I plan to spend the majority of my holiday months in Southern Italy. Doing a little bit of R&R as well as reflection on the volunteer projects. At this point in the trip I will be about half way done with my around the world volunteer trip, and really want to be able to take some time to take it all in before starting to work again in India in January.
India (January – March)
Mumbai, Goa, Hyderabad, Maharastra, Agra, New Dehli, Kathmandu – In January is when I will start my volunteer project working with young girls in women who are escaping the sex slave industry in India.
Indonesia (April)
Volunteer project planning in the works for this location.
New Zealand (May)
A month of travel and reflection to finish up my trip. I plan on venturing around both the north and south island and learning about the Kiwi culture.
