FRIENDS I’VE MET ON THE ROAD

Jeff from Career Break Secrets: Jeff started Career Break Secrets after his own Career Break from 2007-2008. He now lives in  Bogota and runs Career Break Secrets to inspire others and help them plan their own career break journey. Jeff was nice enough to let me stay with him in Bogota and he showed me around the city. Jeff has been to 27 countries and speaks 3 languages. He’s also a good friend in the travel community, and inspiration to live your dreams!

Philip from Dimensional Heart Traveler : Philip resigned after 15 years as a chef at a nonprofit and set out to travel the world. He has been on the road for over 2.5 years and every now and then goes back to California, but most of the time he spends on the road seeing new place and meeting new people. I met Philip in Cali, Colombia where we saw our first Spanish local theatre and enjoyed the street art in this colorful and vibrant city. He has traveled extensively throughout the western United States, Canada, Alaska, Mexico (twice) and Central America (three times). He is currently traveling South America (2011) hopefully making his way down to the Patagonia!

Lainie and Miro from Raising Miro: Lainie and Miro are both volunteering with me at my first volunteer project in Ecuador – Fundacion Arte Del Mundo. They have been on the road now for 2 years, and are traveling for a total of 8 years. Lainie is a single mom raising Miro on the road of life. They focus on philanthropy and global citizenship throughout their travels, and have a lot of great information on their blog in regards to inspiration as a single mom, un-schooling, and shifting the education paradigm. Together they do a fun podcast that focuses on world learning. I Love drinking Red Wine with Lainie and hiking with Miro!
