Monday Escapes – Artisan in the Andes

Submitted by on June 21, 2010 – 7:00 amOne Comment

Escape to the Machuca Village near the Andes Mountains in the Northern region of Chile.

The Machuca village is in the foothills of the Andes mountains which is also the desert region of Northern Chile. The natives of this area survive by raising llamas and alpacas for their meat, and selling hand-made crafts to visitors.
