“You don’t have to know a lot of things for your life to make a lasting difference in the world. But you do have to know the few great things that matter, perhaps just one, and then be willing to live for them and die for them. The people that make a durable difference in the world are not the people who have mastered many things, but who have been mastered by one great thing.” – John Piper

Travel Mania Success & The Dreamers at Meet Plan Go

Submitted by on September 20, 2010 – 1:51 am5 Comments

Mark Twain once said – Explore. Dream. Discover! Thanks to founders  Sherry Ott, Michaela Potter, and Tara Russell of a nationwide travel event that took place in 13 cities, had 1,377 registered attendees, and 726 people on the wait list, have now inspired many to Meet. Plan. Go!

Hosts & Panelist of MPG Dallas

On September 14th, Dallas was one of the 13 cities that hosted the MPG event, and we were one of the 7 sold out locations! Myself, Marc and Dani from 4Suitcases, Jenny from Where is Jenny, and Max Elo who has been to over 50 countries while still a successful award-winning creative director in Dallas all shared our travel knowledge and tips on how all the fellow Texans that are embracing travel and a possible career break can make it happen.

It seems as though initially everyone has the first two questions – When do I start planning, and how do I save? Money is always a big topic! But, we also talked about visualizing your career break, how it would effect your career or how to work location independent, planning tips, and what are some things you should and shouldn’t be concerned about. It is amazing how media often gives the wrong perception of different parts of the world. Jenny has done an excellent job of re-capping the Dallas MPG Event, so you can read about our conversations at Jenny’s Blog!

We all met some amazing guests at our event!  Mike who traveled all the way from Tulsa, OK to attend, and is planning his next adventure. Ruby and Tucker who are looking to go on a European Travel Extravaganza, and people like Nico who work independently running their own business. None of this travel mania would have been  successful without all eager attendees and the many faces of long term & carer break travel who helped make the Meet Plan Go events successful!

Here are some happy faces of our giveaway winners! We hope a Dallas attendee will win one of the awesome travel trips from our amazing National Sponsors! The winners will be announced on September 20th and be notified via email.

Giveaway Winners!

Thank you to the creative founders of MPG! Thank you to everyone who came out to the Dallas event! And, a special Thank you to the local STA representatives (Patrick & Jarrett) that were in Dallas!
